Anthony Petrello, or Tony as he is called by many, has devoted a good part of his working life in Nabors Industries, a US-based company that focuses on drilling gas and oil wells in and out of the shore. But even though he became popular in the media due to the positions he held within this international firm, as well as the lump sum of cash that he receives annually from it, there are more interesting factors in this man’s life that can draw the viewers in to know him more.
Early Life and Scholastic Years
The news channels often highlight the successes that Tony Petrello has achieved, yet they offer limited information about his life before he became a professional. Luckily, his former college roommate, Lloyd Grove, is an accomplished writer in his right, and has written a lengthy and honest article his relationship with his old friend. According to Lloyd, Tony was a fun-loving pal who used to make jokes and laugh with them easily. And other than his great social skills, Anthony Petrello was also a mathematics wizard.
This genius of his in the said subject matter allowed him to enter the Harvard Law School and earn a Juris Doctor degree, and then go to the Yale University to obtain a Master’s degree in Mathematics.
The first job he had post graduation was at the Baker & McKenzie, a law firm that specializes in basic corporate laws, taxation, and global arbitration. For seven years from 1979, Tony Petrello held a minor position in the attorneys’ office until 1986 when he got bumped up to the Managing Partner role and served its branch in New York for five more years. After resigning in the firm, he went on to Nabors Industries.
Life at Nabors
The oil drilling company has given Tony a different ground to enhance his leadership services. When he moved here in 1991, he turned into the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Then, Anthony Petrello got more hands-on with the management of the corporation as the administrators appointed him as the Chief Operating Officer and President of Nabors Industries during the same year.
While he was continuing with the same positions, he has also been the company’s Deputy Chairman, the Chief Executive Officer, and the Chair of the Board and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors from the years 2003, 2011, and 2012 up to this date. His intelligent manner of thinking helped – and continues to help – Nabor close large deals that could assist the corporation towards gaining more economic achievements in other portions of the globe. To be specific, they have recently focused their sites on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where the supply of oil is very generous. Based on the news reports that have been floating in various outlets, this company signed a business agreement with a respectable oil drilling institution in the Middle East, Saudi Aramco, so as to manage and maintain a lot of oil drigs within the country.
